Q: What will the Discover Bible School provide me if I become a volunteer Bible Instructor?

A: The Discover Bible School will provide, free of charge, all the supplies needed for you to grade lessons for one correspondence student. The list of supplies for both the Focus on Prophecy and Discover Bible courses can be found here.

Q: How much time does it take to grade lessons?

A: It takes around 15 minutes to grade a lesson and prepare the next mailing to send to the student.

Q: Do I need to find my own Bible study correspondence students?

A: No. The Discover Bible Headquarters Schools receives around 160 Bible study requests a week. We will assign you a student through the online Student Record System (SRS) application. All the student’s information can be accessed through your phone or on your computer.

Q: Do I have to use the Discover Bible School’s online Student Record System (SRS)?

A: Yes. Our user-friendly online platform is designed to help you keep track of your student’s progress and allows us to assist you and your student if any issues arise while they are taking the Bible course.

Q: Do I need to obtain a PO Box to be a volunteer Bible instructor?

A: Yes. Many instructors get permission to use their local church PO Box to send and receive mail. If the church box is not available, instructors can use their own personal PO Box or obtain an extra small box at their local Post Office. As another option, a Private Mailbox (PMB) can also be rented from The UPS Store or from another business in your area that provides this service.

Q: How much does the postage cost for one student to complete a course by correspondence?

A: If a student is enrolled in the Focus on Prophecy Bible lessons, the postage amount for all the mailings is $25.10. For the Discover Bible lessons, the mailings cost $31.23.

Q: May I grade lessons for more than one student?

A: Yes! A Bible instructor is allowed to have as many students as they desire. We will only assign one student unless an instructor requests for more.

Q: What is training like? Will I be able to talk to someone or will it be a training video?

A: The Discover Bible School has scheduled regular Zoom meetings for training and support for volunteer Bible instructors. Training videos on how to use the Student Record System (SRS) are also available here.
